This Week in Restaurant Technologies, with Nate Riggs and Brandon Hull

On This Week in Restaurant Technologies we follow-up last week’s conversation regarding Facebook, as well as discuss what Panera Bread is doing with its digital marketing — and what you can learn from it for your restaurant.

You know, there’s been a lot of weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth regarding Facebook and how it’s narrowing, more and more, Page exposure to Page fans. If you’ve got a restaurant brand page, you’ve probably noticed that it’s not getting near the same level of REACH or ENGAGEMENT due to Facebook’s algorithm changes.

We talk about that. The whys, the what-can-you-dos, and so forth. Good ideas here.

With Panera, CNN Money featured them with regard to how they’re building out their online ordering, in-store ordering kiosks, and more. It spurred our conversation about the level of investment involved, what this means for their in-store experience, and what other restaurant brands can learn.

Enjoy, share your opinions here or on Twitter using the #twirt hashtag. We’re happy to have you participate.
