Custom Pricing for Restaurant Guests — Is It on the Way?

Go Dish Screenshot

There’s a new player in town on the digital marketing front for restaurants, and we’re mentioning it here because there’s really nothing like it.

Is custom pricing for restaurant guests finally on the horizon? I say yes.

TechCrunch has announced Go Dish — a (for now) San Francisco-only service that offers an app for consumers to get access to daily deals nearby from participating restaurants. And there’s this catch: restaurants can make those deals more appealing to consumers who are more flexible on when they pick up their order.

Note the screenshot in this post. I narrowed the window of time to be a two-hour window, 11:00am to 1:00pm, and the price reflects a 30% discount. When I expanded the time window, the discount boosted to 50% off. Interesting, huh?

You can download the app and play around with this yourself to give it a whirl.

So….YOU determine just how special the special they receive is. We’ve added them to our Directory and plan to do a follow-up article on this subject really soon.
