- Rewards Network published a powerful post for restaurants on using Pinterest. Short, but powerful. In it, they feature Indianapolis-based Scotty’s Brewhouse, famous for their octopus-inspired turkey hot dogs for kids and how much attention and interest Scotty’s garners through its Pinterest pics.
- Mobile Mixed’s Greg Hickman does a great introduction to Google’s Business Photos service, a lesser-known offering from Google where photos INSIDE your business are taken and shared with potential guests. Great for SEO purposes; awesome for giving people a better feel for your customer experience.
- Janet Forgrieve asks, “Where will mobile ordering take restaurants next?” and it’s a great question. In this post, OLO‘s Noah Glass blasts the notion that paying at the table, using a public device, versus your own mobile device is crazy: “…if I have the ability to pull out my own device and I have a credit card on file and I can get through with one click, why would I want to use a public device that’s sitting on the table?”
- Another nice move by Applebee’s with their Vine promotion. They’re giving fans and followers a chance to be featured in an upcoming commercial by way of those fans’ six-second Vine videos. Creative.
- Twitter? Facebook? Instagram? Pinterest? Vine? Which social network should you focus on?? Global consulting company McKinsey & Co. says…….email. That’s the one you should focus on. It was a trick question! The gist: Email is 40 times more likely to drive customer adoption than those social channels.
