This Week in Restaurant Technologies #10 – NRA Show Recap

This Week in Restaurant Technologies, with Nate Riggs and Brandon Hull

Welcome to another edition of This Week in Restaurant Technologies, with Nate Riggs and me, Brandon Hull. Nate and I debrief from the NRA (National Restaurant Association, not the National Rifle Association) show in Chicago.

Outside of eating way too many Chicago-style hot dogs, Nate also spent a good amount of time at the Tech Pavilion and visiting with intriguing restaurant technology partners.

In this week’s episode we share four interviews Nate did with tech innovators exhibiting at the show, and our take on their opportunity — Privy, Fishbowl, OpenTable, and Kallpod.

I personally feel, and make this point emphatically in the conversation, that every restaurant owner needs to make it to the NRA show at least every few years — there’s just too much innovation on display to ignore it, or hope to catch up via articles and news after the fact.

And get this — though we talk about how overwhelming the show is, spanning three pavilions in fact — the NRA show will expand to a FOURTH exhibit hall next year. Give this show recap your attention, you’ll be glad you did. And tune in next week at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time, 8:00 a.m. Eastern at our Google+ page.
